We know families (and supporters!) have questions. Here are some answers, along with resources you can use right now.
FAQ's
Q: What is The Nest?
A: It’s a community hub for parents, offering doula care, yoga, massage, physical therapy, acupuncture, support groups and so much more—all under one roof. Our goal is to create a third option for families in Contra Costa County beyond hospital or home.
Q: When will the center open?
A: We are aiming to open our doors in 2028. In the meantime, we are building momentum through community support, fundraising, and partnerships.
Q: Are you a midwife-run birth center?
A: This depends on a lot of things that we do not know yet. Our initial focus is on perinatal wellness and comprehensive support services. As we grow, we plan to explore partnerships with midwives to potentially expand into a licensed birth center. For now, we can connect you with a preferred midwife in your area.

Q: How will you pay for this?
A: Through a combination of grants, community fundraising, and partnerships. Every contribution—large or small—helps us “move mountains.”

Q: Why does Contra Costa County need this?
A: Families here currently have only two options for birth: hospital or home. Research shows better outcomes when families have more support and more choices. We’re creating that missing option.

Q: Can I be part of this vision?
A:Yes! You can:
