We know families (and supporters!) have questions. Here are some answers, along with resources you can use right now.
FAQ's
Q: What is The Nest?
A: It’s a community hub for parents, offering doula care, yoga, massage, physical therapy, acupuncture, support groups and so much more—all under one roof. Our goal is to create a third option for families in Contra Costa County beyond hospital or home.
Q: When will the center open?
A: We are aiming to open our doors in 2028. In the meantime, we are building momentum through community support, fundraising, and partnerships.
Q: Are you a midwife-run birth center?
A: This depends on a lot of things that we do not know yet. Our initial focus is on perinatal wellness and comprehensive support services with a goal of becoming a fully functioning licensed birth center as we secure funding. For now, we can connect you with a preferred midwife in your area.

Q: How will you pay for this?
A: Through a combination of grants, community fundraising, and partnerships. Every contribution—large or small—helps us “move mountains.”

Q: Why does Contra Costa County need this?
A: Families here currently have only two options for birth: hospital or home. Research shows better outcomes when families have more support and more choices. We’re creating that missing option.

Q: Can I be part of this vision?
A:Yes! You can:
