Contra Costa County: where we’re planting the roots of something new.

Right now, parents in Contra Costa County face a gap in care. If you don’t want a hospital birth but aren’t comfortable with home birth, there’s no dedicated option for you. Families deserve a third space—a supportive, holistic center where birth and postpartum care are grounded in safety, community, and whole-family wellness.

In Contra Costa County, nearly 89.9% of mothers begin prenatal care in the first trimester, but only about 75-80% receive what’s classified as “adequate” care. Black infants in the county experience rates of infant mortality as high as 8.0 per 1,000 births. Lives—pregnancies—births—are better when support is abundant, early, and consistent. We believe in creating another option beyond just hospital or home birth, especially for those who fall in gaps.
