Opportunities for continuing education, skill-sharing with other doulas, and mentorship from experienced providers. Doula certification support is available for new doulas.

Instead of burning out running everything alone, you’ll have a supportive infrastructure that lets you focus on your clients and your craft.
How It Works

You remain an independent contractor with your own NPI and clients.

You pay a small monthly fee that covers shared systems, marketing, and overhead as well as billing support.

In return, you gain visibility, community, and support that allows you to grow your practice without isolation.
Our Mission with Survivors
When you join the Contra Costa Family Nest, you’re not just joining a birth collective—you’re stepping into a movement.

Half of the reason this center exists is to stand with survivors of domestic abuse. We aim to build partnerships with local shelters and service providers so that women leaving violence have access to trauma-informed, compassionate birth and postpartum care at no cost to them.
​
As part of our team, doulas will have the opportunity to:

Receive specialized training in supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

Provide free or low-cost care to families rebuilding their lives. (While some doulas will donate their time in exchange for experience, others will utilize Medi-cal, grants or insurance benefits to receive payment for their services)

Be part of a justice-centered mission that goes beyond private practice.

This work is sacred. It means that while you grow your own business and gain referrals, you’re also helping to break cycles of violence and give families a new beginning.

Our team of doulas and other birth professionals is passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field of childbirth. We believe that ongoing education and training is essential to providing the highest level of care to our clients. We also understand that every mother's journey is unique, and we strive to provide individualized care and support that meets their specific needs and preferences.
